Who is Arrow Root Media?
Jaki Levy, founder
Jaki Levy (Founder) started Arrow Root Media, a New Media Production and Consulting group in 2006. Since then, he has worked with multiple non-profits and arts organizations, including: MoMA, Lincoln Center, ISSUE Project Room, The Field, Rockaway Waterfront Alliance,Queens Council on the Arts, NextBook (a publishing house), Joyce Soho, and Soundstreams in Canada.
He has presented on the intersection of Arts and Technology at conferences, leads workshops focused around online marketing, and teaches WordPress throughout New York City.
His online initiatives and work with Misnomer Dance Theater helped the company secure over $1.25 million in grants from the Doris Duke Foundation and the Rockefeller Foundation. In 2010, Jaki launched elastic-city.com, a full ecommerce site devoted to artistic walking tours in NYC. His firm is managing ecommerce websites that generate over $4 million / yr.
Jaki is an avid cyclist, and a co-organizer for the ArtsTech meetup group in NYC and SF.

Why Arrow Root Media?
Arrow Root is a thickening agent used for cooking. Generally, Arrow Root keeps things together. The words “Arrow” and “Root” were also an inspiration for a direction and vision. Arrow Root Media aims for a large vision while also rooting these ideas. While Arrows have a dynamic direction, Roots keep things grounded, and firmly placed in reality.
